Let’s talk about Sandusky!

Attention parents of young children! Kindergarten Expo/Roundup is March 22 at 6 p.m. at Sandusky Elementary School, 395 S. Sandusky Road. All parents of children attending kindergarten/Great Start next fall are welcome to attend. Refreshments served.

Sandusky Elementary students will participate in the Battle of the Books March 6 at 4 p.m. at Brown City Elementary. Students in fourth, fifth and sixth grades will compete.

Looking for bargains? The Sandusky High School Project Graduation Garage Sale is March 17 from 8 a.m.-3 p.m. in the Maple Valley School Cafeteria, 138 Maple Valley Street.

Sign up now for the “Little Shaver” Self Defense Class on March 24! Help educate your child about dealing with strangers. The class will help teach children to be wary of strangers but not to be overly fearful. Training will include the Stranger Rules Checklist, People Smarts, what you should and should not do if you are home alone, calling 911 and some simple striking, stunning and escaping techniques. Open to children 6 to 10 years of age accompanied by a parent. Register for the class on March 24 from 10 a.m. till noon at Sandusky District Library, 55 E. Sanilac Avenue. The Focus on Life Annual Benefit Dinner sponsored by Right to Life of Sanilac County is March 22 at the Family Center at Countryside Free Methodist Church, 912 W. Sanilac Road. Doors open at 6 p.m., dinner is at 7 p.m. Guest speaker is the media spokesperson and associate lobbyist for Michigan Right to Life. Registration is $20 per person or $160 per table of eight. The Sandusky Baby Pantry is open 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. the second and fourth Mondays of the month at Maple Valley School, 138 Maple Valley Street. Free to any Sanilac County family, everything from maternity and children’s clothing sizes newborn thru six, to toys, blankets, baby equipment and bottles.
